This paper deals with comparison of VSI fed and matrix converter(MC) fed induction motor drive system. These systems are designed, modelled and simulated in Matlab/simulink. This drive system has benefits like reduced THD, reduced losses and low heating of induction motor. The THD content of current of VSI fed drive system is compared with that of MC fed drive system.
